Unfortunately, LASIK is most often considered an elective procedure, and therefore not covered by insurance. This does not reflect the effectiveness of LASIK. Rather, if LASIK coverage were provided by insurance companies, most of the population with refractive errors (about 30 percent of Americans) would likely utilize such coverage.
To help combat this situation, Dr. Whitsett has created his Pro Plan for employees of companies. The Pro Plan offers Dr. Whitsett’s lowest fee for LASIK surgery regardless of refractive error. Because of this discount, it cannot be combined with any other insurance or other special offers.
To qualify, a company or employer must agree to provide information about Dr. Whitsett’s Pro Plan to its employees. Dr. Whitsett will provide the materials. A qualifying company must have a minimum of five employees.
The Whitsett Vision Group will work with your company's medical savings or flex spending accounts. And the Whitsett Pro Plan does not interfere with company health insurance benefits. Thus, it can be a value-added benefit at no cost to the company.
